Oak Trees

In this blog post we are going to discuss all things Oaks. The differences between the oak trees and where they are located in the United States and what types there are. Stay with us in order to reflect on the best trees and diverse uses and purposes of oak trees in America. There are over 600 species of oak trees in the world and the United States hosts 90 of them.

Live Oaks:

The term live oaks is used to describe oak trees that are evergreen and don’t lose their colors during the colder seasons of the year. Talk about a strong tree! That is why the expression “hard as an oak” is used so often among the elderly, they are simply indestructible in some circumstances! My buddy at Gwinnett Immigration Attorney uses that expression all the time! In the spring a single oak tee produces both male and female flowers. The fruit that the tree produces is called an acorn which squirrels totally love and devour every chance they get.

Famous Oaks:

The Emancipation oak tree is one of the most famous trees in the world and deemed by the National Geographic Society as one of the Continue reading “Oak Trees”

Green Acres is the place to be..

Everyone remembers that song and the tv show from the sixties right? I didn’t really watch it as a kid growing up since it came on television before my time. But, afterwards when I was younger in the eighties, I would see episodes on and watch it when they were convenient to my before and after school hours. The show is somewhat of a theme of this blog, where you are trying to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and get out the acres and acres of land that give you that re-charge. My attorney at Gwinnett Bankruptcy Lawyer watches this show on TV Land all the time still. The Green acres that is, or the Oak Grove Acres which is a place out in rural America that everyone can take the time to escape to.

I remember one episode when the wife on the show, I can’t remember her name, came from New York out to the Green Acres to the husband. He had lived there and wanted the Continue reading “Green Acres is the place to be..”

The countryside

Welcome to our new blog about being in the open air and outdoors in oak grove acres! We will journey through country living, breathing in the fresh forest air and a simpler time and place. It is these visits to the remote areas that bring us back to a simple time and place, leaving you feeling refreshed and perhaps ready to plug back in. I like to get out into nature to take a hike in the woods, climb a small mountain in the blue ridge chain in North Georgia, or just get out into nature for a while to unwind.

Some of these visits for us here in Georgia include the North Georgia mountains. There are a lot of mountains and very scenic landscapes here in the Piedmont region of the country located in the Southeastern United States. My friend at towing Lawrenceville, GA goes often to blue ridge in North GA which is but a quick drive from Atlanta area and usually accessible within one to two hours on average. Nature trails, hiking and biking trails, waterfalls, and many more are the usual suspects. Naturally they are a nice get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and quite Continue reading “The countryside”
